We begin planning your individual or couples portrait with a portrait consultation held at our studio. Whether you know excatly what you want portrait to look like, have no idea of what you want, or you're looking to collaborate with photographer to create something that is uniquely you, it all begins with sitting down and listening to you. By finding out about your lifestyle, your personality, and the style of images that you prefer, together we can develop a clear understanding of what you want your portraits to look like.
We'll talk about everything that goes into creating your portrait. From the style of the images, to clothing, props and location.
In addition, we'll also discuss the colors and style of furniture that are in the room where you will be displaying your portraits. How are you planning to use the photography that we're creating for you? Are you thinking about creating a coffee table book, a personal album, a collection for a wall grouping, or are you thinking about creating a storyboard?
At the end of the consultation we will schedule your portrait photography session.
We require a non-refundable retainer of at the time we schedule your portrait session. This holds the date for you and allows us to begin the work of planning your portrait. (We will cheerfully reschedule if the weather is uncooperative or other circumstances require).
We suggest you schedule the session on a day when you are not overly busy. That way you will arrive for the session looking your best and feeling refreshed and relaxed. Your portrait is going to be very special!
The length of the session depends the complexity of of what we are creating and/or the location. We suggest you bring not only the clothing you've selected for your portrait, but an alternate clothing change as well. For more formal portraits, bring several selections of jewelry or accessories.
Choosing just the right image is a fun experience! Because we project our images and don't use proofs, please make sure that everyone who is a part of the decision making process is at this meeting. You will be placing your order at this time.
Please determine ahead of time where you would like to display your portraits and the dimensions of the space where you will hang them. This will allow us to help you determine the best size for your portrait or wall grouping. Also, please don't forget the desk sets for your offices, gift sets for relatives and smaller images for your wallet.
