Creating a cherished portrait of your children begins with a conversation that lets us get to know each other. This is done at our studio, and is essential in helping you, as well as us, visualize your portrait before the portrait session. Please bring your children with you. This will give them a chance to get to know us so they will be more comfortable during their photo session. We like to find out about your children - their personalities, their favorite activities and toys. Each child is unique, so we're also looking for hints from you that will allow us to make the photography session fun and enjoyable for everyone.
We'll talk about what photo styles appeal to you. Are you looking for something casual and fun, something photojounalistic like "a day in the life", or something more formal. At the end of the consultation, we'll schedule your portrait session and your presentation appointment.
We do require a non-refundable retainer of at the time we schedule your photography session. This holds the date and allows us to begin planning your childrens' portrait. (We will cheerfully reschedule if circumstances require).
We suggest you schedule the session on a day that you are not rushed and the children will be able to take their naps. We want everyone to arrive looking their best and feeling refreshed and relaxed. This is a very special day and we want to create something truly special for you!
The length of the session depends on the number of children involved, their attention span, and the location. We suggest you bring not only the clothing you've selected, but an some alternate clothing changes as well. If very young children are going to be photographed, don't forget to bring a toy, some books, or other fun distractions for them. Please visit our Preparing for Your Session for some additional information.
Choosing just the right image is a fun experience! Because we are a proofless studio and don't post our images on the internet, please make sure that everyone who is a part of the decision making process will be able to attend and is prepared to make a decision. You will want to determine ahead of time where you'd like to display your wall portraits
or wall groupings. Please make note of the dimensions where you'd like to hang them. This will help you determine the best sizes for your portraits. Also don't forget the desk sets for your offices and gift sets for relatives who love to see the little ones growing up.
